THE Australian stock market looks set to open higher.

At 0645 AEDT on Monday, the share price index was up 21 points at 5,465. Locally, in economic news on Monday, the Australian Bureau of Statistics will release its business indicators for the September quarter and its estimates of multifactor productivity that is capital and labour combined for the last financial year.

The Australian Industry Groups index of service sector activity for November is also due out, as are ANZs job advertisements series for the same month. In Australia on Friday, the share market ended the week with a fall of one per cent, with investors cautious ahead of the release of US jobs data.

That jobs data showed employers in private and public sectors hired more people last month than economists had expected, further strengthening expectations of a hike when the US Federal Reserve meets on December 13 and 14. US stocks closed Friday little changed.
